I have moved to Leek on the edge of the beautiful Peak District after many years of living on the South Coast. The change has been exhilarating and stimulating, opening up new opportunities and possibilities. The last three years have been spent learning about the area and having time to settle into a new way of life.
I use both black and white earthstone clay which can be fired to earthenware or stoneware temperatures. I throw and handbuild and enjoy the contrasting disciplines. Currently I am exploring the repetitive nature of throwing with its speed of production against the widely differing techniques in handbuilding. One of the things I love about working with clay is the seemingly endless ideas and the creative possibilities.
